Kerry Shepherd Textiles

Kerry Shepherd

I’m an Australian textile artist, designer and natural dyer based in Lake Macquarie /Newcastle NSW.

My background….

I have worked professionally with colour and design as a consultant, designer, teacher, researcher and mentor for over 30 years. This has encompassed many facets including interior design and environmental colour design for residential, commercial and medical environments, applied colour psychology, colour theory, personal colour and image, and colour (and light) for health and well-being.

This gathering of information and insight saw the commencement of my own colour school - The Ruby School where I created and designed Certificate and Diploma level courses in Colour.

Further studies and creative interests also included floristry, abstract painting, nature and vibrational energy based therapies. I’m also a qualified reiki practitioner - working with reiki (universal life force energy also known as ‘chi’) to help, assist and support in gentle, subtle ways.

My professional creative work involves producing one-of-a-kind, handmade and hand-dyed pieces which I sell as a regular stall holder at Handmade in the Hunter Markets in the Hunter Valley, NSW. They include natural fibre and plant pigment scarves and clothing, and artwork that are uniquely nature derived and created with the intention to positively resonate with the individual beyond the visual level.

I also teach from time-to-time, offering one-on-one or small group tailored workshops - from ecodyeing and printing to colour.

Please contact me direct via email if you would like to know more about what I do, would like to purchase any of my work or where you can find me.

Thanks for popping by.
